MAYAN

ECCENTRIC

Ref #:  466

Type:  Eccentrics

Material:  Chert

Period:  Late Pre-Classic to Terminal Classic Period: 250 BC - 900 AD

Provenance:  Central America

Measurements (length in cm, left to right):  6.8, 7.6, 8 cm

Comments:  Knapped shape of fantasy creature incorporated into the design a natural drusy-lined hole opening in the chert such that it appears as if a limb is bent around the hole.
